What Is an Allied Health Assistant?

An Allied Health Assistant (AHA) (or therapy assistant) is a trained support worker who implements therapy programs developed by qualified allied health professionals, such as physiotherapists and occupational therapists. AHAs support clients to carry out exercises, therapeutic activities, and functional tasks that help improve health, independence, and quality of life.

AHAs do not assess, diagnose, or change therapy plans - they work under direct supervision and guidance from our clinicians. This ensures all support is delivered safely and effectively, with your progress monitored closely.

Occupational Therapy Support
